Hi, I’m Pascha.

I’m a quality engineer, a recreational sprint kayaker, and the person who will notice the one button that’s two pixels off. I care about technology that works for everyone who uses it, not just the people who built it.

I grew up in Pemberton, BC, and fell in love with technology as a kid, spending hours teaching myself anything I could get my hands on. As a teenager, cataracts left me blind in both eyes for a few years. My sight came back in one eye.

I’ve never forgotten what it’s like when technology isn’t built with you in mind.

I studied computer science in Halifax and found my way into software through an Apple Store, where I learned to see a product from the side of the person holding it.

These days I lead quality and releases for a fitness app used by millions, and outside of work I put my energy into accessibility, women in STEM, and making tech workplaces more welcoming. I live in Port Coquitlam, BC, with my spouse and our two cats, Felix and Luna.

Key work

I’m the Lead QA at ABC Trainerize, a fitness platform used by more than ten million people, working at Staff Engineer scope. The work I’m proudest of is below.

Reports toVP of Engineering

OwnsQA & release quality for all 8 teams

SetsOrg-wide release & automation standards

ShipsCode across frontend, backend & CI

Weekly →
continuous

I retired release day.

I designed the release process that took eight engineering teams from one shared weekly release to shipping on their own cadence: release classification, automation gates, staged rollouts, rollback plans and post-release monitoring, with crash-free sessions holding above 99.9%.

Manual → automated

Turning QA into an engineering practice.

Playwright and mobile smoke and regression suites running in CI, stable test IDs built into the product, accessibility checks, and repeatable evidence packs for every release.

AI, both ways

Building with AI, and testing it.

I build AI agents with Cursor and Codex that automate test generation, bug triage and engineering busywork, and I set the quality strategy for AI-powered product features: generated content, permissions, prompts and edge cases.

Root cause

The person you call when it’s weird.

I’m the escalation point between Support, Product and Engineering for high-priority customer issues: tracing problems across frontend, backend and APIs, flagging security and privacy risks, and making sure fixes stay fixed.

Beyond work

The work I’d do even if nobody paid me for it.

Accessibility

This one is personal. I spent part of my teens unable to see, and I still navigate the world with sight in one eye. Since 2022 I’ve consulted on accessibility for web and mobile teams, helping them meet WCAG and ADA standards and build products that work for everyone.

Women in STEM

A Microsoft Diversity Scholarship helped get me into tech, and I try to hold the door open behind me. I’ve organized and run women in STEM panels at work, and I mentor the engineers on my team.

Diversity at work

I sit on ABC Fitness’s Culture Steering Task Force and take part in our DEBI (diversity, equity, belonging and inclusion) meetings, helping shape a workplace where more people feel they belong. It started at Dalhousie, where I designed campus diversity and inclusion programs. In 2023 that work, alongside my day job, earned me ABC Club Excellence, which recognizes the top 50 employees across the company.

Hobbies

Most evenings you’ll find me making something.

Sewing & embroidery

My biggest hobby right now. I love how both reward patience, precision and the tiny details nobody else notices.

Photography

Landscapes and portraits, mostly taken while travelling.

Sprint kayaking

I paddle for fun these days, a long way from racing outrigger canoes for Team Canada as a teenager.

Say hello.
