Experience

Lead QA (Staff-level scope)

ABC Trainerize (ABC Fitness) · 2024 – present

Classified as an engineer reporting directly to the VP of Engineering. I own the QA process and release quality for the entire engineering org: 12 development teams shipping web, iOS, Android and Apple Watch to 10M+ users.

Org-wide strategy

  • Designed the release process that moved 8 teams from weekly releases to continuous delivery, with automation gates, rollback planning and post-release monitoring.
  • Set the quality strategy for AI-powered product features, covering generated content, file uploads, permissions, feature flags and edge cases.

Technical standards

  • Evolved QA from manual validation into a quality engineering practice: Playwright and mobile suites in CI, stable test IDs, accessibility checks and release evidence packs.
  • Own iOS and Android releases, App Store and Google Play submissions, incidents and hotfixes, LaunchDarkly rollouts and DORA metrics.

Hands-on engineering

  • Contribute code across frontend, backend, API, CI and release tooling, including customer-facing defect fixes.
  • Build AI agents with Cursor and Codex for test generation, bug triage and engineering workflow automation.
  • Escalation point between Support, Product and Engineering; identified security and privacy risks in account-access and messaging workflows.

People & enablement

  • Lead and mentor 9 QA engineers in automation, investigation and safe code contributions.
  • Run monthly product training for 100+ employees and wrote the QA onboarding program.

Senior QA

ABC Trainerize (ABC Fitness) · 2023 – 2024

  • Expanded into automation, release readiness and mentoring, building regression coverage for high-touch product areas.
  • Led root-cause analysis on complex customer-impacting issues and built a defect process that restores critical issues in under 24 hours.
  • Named to ABC Club Excellence (2023), recognizing the top 50 employees company-wide for impact in my role and on company culture.

Junior QA, then QA Engineer

ABC Trainerize (ABC Fitness) · 2020 – 2023

  • Grew from functional testing and defect reporting into owning feature testing, regression coverage and cross-platform validation, working closely with developers and Support.

Web Developer & Accessibility Consultant

Self-employed · 2022 – present

  • Build WordPress eCommerce sites for small businesses and advise teams on accessibility and inclusive design.

Technical Expert

Apple Canada Retail · 2017 – 2020

  • Diagnosed and repaired Apple devices and translated technical issues into clear solutions for customers.
